I\u2019m really looking forward to this year and how much I\u2019m going to get done. This is going to be the year I query literary agents, and the year I self-publish Coup d&#8217;\u00c9tat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Starting off, I made this cute graphic to summarize my goals for the year. Let\u2019s break them down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/wv3yKkbadN8hGbJvQYwOiOBLI38sd4vcNAOEvP3whImeQJr90JlIF9rqxDCYiw0P2EU2BiZoQVUaVOMRx4XCdLzQQ78geTC0gLGZqQqh7SC6AEIlJ4QaddLt2aTLfCiOg2KC2idCEizgWdC8juGaT64\" width=\"624\" height=\"808\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Writing<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Query Serenity:<\/strong> This I\u2019ll be doing in February or March, after I finish reading <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/en\/book\/show\/55066606\">Ascendant<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/en\/book\/show\/61431922\">Fourth Wing<\/a> since they\u2019re my comps for my query letter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Edit Coup d&#8217;\u00c9tat:<\/strong> My goal is to have this done by March. Stretch goal: by February.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Edit Sandalwood:<\/strong> This will be the final edits for Sandalwood before I pass it on to beta readers. I\u2019m hoping to do most of this in April during <a href=\"https:\/\/nanowrimo.org\/\">Spring Camp NaNoWriMo<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Write 120k words:<\/strong> To get 120k words this year, I\u2019ll need 30k each quarter, or 10k each month. It doesn\u2019t matter what project(s) these words go into.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Reading<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Read 12 book: <\/strong>This is my overall goal. All other reading goals align with this one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complete <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/app.thestorygraph.com\/reading_challenges\/f613016e-05e6-4b57-8beb-6907ff98d2a9\"><strong>The Writing Cartel\u2019s 2024 Storygraph Reading Challenge<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>January:<\/strong> Read a book you wish you could reread for the first time&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>February:<\/strong> Read a book by a Black author<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>March:<\/strong> Read a book that was adapted into a Barbie movie<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>April:<\/strong> Read a book with a title based on a song<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>May:<\/strong> Read a book that contains your favorite animal<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>June:<\/strong> Read a queer book<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>July:<\/strong> Read a book written by a Cartel member<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>August:<\/strong> Read a book with a romance in it<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>September:<\/strong> Read a YA book<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>October:<\/strong> Read a book with a dark story\/theme<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>November:<\/strong> Read the first book in a series<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>December:<\/strong> Read a holiday book<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Finish reading Ascendant:<\/strong> I\u2019m 71% through this one, so I\u2019ll be done in a few days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Read Fourth Wing:<\/strong> This is my other comp title, so I\u2019m excited to get through it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Social Media<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reply to 3 Tweets every day: <\/strong>This is for engagement purposes. I need to get back into the Twitter writerverse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Write a Tweet every day: <\/strong>This is to keep my account active and have somewhere to put my writing progress.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Write a blog post every week: I\u2019ll be posting on Sundays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Life<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Clean every weekday: <\/strong>I\u2019ve really let things go and need to get back into a habit of cleaning, even if it\u2019s small things.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Do <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/finchcare.com\/\"><strong>Finch<\/strong><\/a><strong> every day: <\/strong>Finch helped me a lot with accountability as well as self-awareness the last couple years. Plus it\u2019s cute.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Go for a walk every day: <\/strong>I\u2019m getting older and need to exercise more for my health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>2024 is going to be a busy, but productive, year.
