Valentine’s Day is almost upon us, and that means Valentine’s writing prompts from The Writing Cartel! The Writing Cartel is the Discord writing server I run. We’re a largish server, but very welcoming and dedicated to helping other writers finish their original fiction projects.
Heads up if you try to join: there is a form in the landing channel. Follow the bot’s instructions and you’ll be fine. I manually let everyone in, so you might have to wait just a teeny bit to get approved.
On to the prompts!
Every year, The Writing Cartel does a Valentine’s event that includes the seven Greek words for love as well as seven new prompts. This year, those prompts are:
- Destiny/Fate
- Feelings
- Alternate Universe
- Pen Pals
- Rejection
- Siblings
- Bonding
These prompts are meant to be completed one at a time, but there’s nothing stopping you from doing two in one response—or even three or four! Do them in order or skip around. Use the prompts as inspiration for a new project or some flash fictions for an existing one.
